Driving into the Netherlands is easy. Good roads cross into Belgium and Germany and nobody at the border checks cars, so you hardly notice you’re in a different country. The ANWB is the Dutch equivalent of the AA for car maintenance. If you need assistance in the Netherlands and a member of the AA then the service provided is free of charge, otherwise the charge is ....... for a call out. The number is 0800-08 88.

The Dutch drive on the right (and therefore overtake on the left). Bikes have right of way, so please watch out when driving. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A valid UK Driving License is required;
- A Green Card and Motor Insurance certificate is recommended;
- A Green Card provides additional proof that the minimum legal third party cover is held;
- A GB sticker is compulsory;
- No motorway tolls are charged in Holland;
- Children under the age of three must travel in the rear with a safety system adapted to their size. Children aged 3-12 may travel in the front if they are in a special seat;
- You must carry a warning triangle in your car;
- Headlamp converters.
